The NHL seems to have remembered that the Sharks exist, naming netminder Martin Jones the third star of the week. He’s the second Shark this season to earn the honor, after Logan Couture was third third star two weeks ago.
This season started off shaky for the Sharks, but this has been a stand out week, seeing the Sharks on a four-game win streak for the first time this season. Since last Sunday, Jones has led the Sharks through three of those victories, posting a .938 save percentage and only allowing four goals in three games.
Another goaltender would make the top three this week, as the Chicago Blackhawks’ Corey Crawford was named the first star after earning back-to-back shutouts and a .945 save percentage. Rounding out the top three is Josh Bailey of the New York Islanders, who tallied seven assists in three games.
