Following last night’s loss against the Edmonton Oilers, Sharks forwards Daniel O’Regan and Marcus Sorensen will be returned to the San Jose Barracuda, per the AHL.

O’Regan was called up in the wake of Ryan Carpenter being claimed off waivers by the Vegas Golden Knights last Wednesday. In total this season, he has played nine games with the Sharks and notched four assists. with his best game coming against the offensive powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning where he had two assists.

Sorensen has been with the club since December 2nd, after a flurry of Sharks injuries on their Florida road trip earlier this month. He’s played in seven games so far and scored two goals in that time, including a goal in last night’s loss.

With several Sharks coming off IR soon, they’ll need those roster spaces back. While Logan Couture is still day-to-day with a concussion, Mikkel Boedker made his return to the line up last night. Joonas Donskoi has returned, leaving just Barclay Goodrow with a lower body injury as the only other forward on Injured Reserve.

The duo of O’Regan and Sorensen were a top line staple in the Barracuda before their respective calls up to the NHL, leading the ‘Cuda in points. Their return will certainly be welcome.
