Sharks recall Timo Meier, Daniel O’Regan and Tim Heed for finale

Here come the kids. And also Tim Heed.

The Sharks recalled Timo Meier, Danny O’Regan and Tim Heed today, signalling we’ll likely see all three suit up for the regular season finale against the Calgary Flames tonight. We already know Dylan DeMelo and Aaron Dell will slot into the lineup against the Alberta squad in the stead of Justin Braun and Martin Jones, but we don’t know who this trio of players will replace.

Meier, O’Regan and Heed have all played quite well for the Barracuda this season. The first two may see some playoff action with the Sharks (Meier certainly should) depending on how much time Joe Thornton and Logan Couture miss. Heed piled up oodles of points, which you’d expect given his age (26) and will compete for a spot next training camp.

The San Jose Barracuda battle the Stockton Heat, the Flames’ AHL affiliate, on the road tonight. I hope Doug Wilson sent some flowers to Roy Sommer and company for pillaging the roster tonight as the ‘Cuda try to lock down the Pacific crown in the AHL.
