When one week isn’t enough: September declared “Shark Month”

It’s like the preseason, but with a fun name.

The preseason is almost here!

The San Jose Sharks must know everybody is itching for the boys in teal, because they have claimed September for their own. The club announced on Friday that September will be “Shark Month,” full of events for Sharks and Barracuda fans to get ready for the season.

Seeing hockey out in the community of a non-traditional market is always a cool thing. The Bay Area better #TurnUpInTeal all September long!

Per the release, here’s the full schedule of events:

September - Sharks Foundation Giving Campaign Launch - Healthy Living Month: After last year's success, the Sharks Foundation kicks off the second annual season-long giving campaign with Healthy Living month. Last season the Foundation gave back a record-breaking $1.8 million to the community. For more details visit

September 7 - Shark Tank Unveil: The Sharks will unveil their new 2,000 gallon saltwater shark tank that will be located in the new Chairman's Lounge. The tank will be featured on the popular Animal Planet program "Tanked" later this fall.

September 8 - Sharks Individual Game Ticket On Sale: Tickets for the first half of the 2017-18 season go on sale to the public on Friday, September 8 at 10 a.m. Fans may purchase tickets for several of the team's unique giveaway games including a newly-designed Los Tiburones Jersey on Hispanic Heritage Night presented by Northern California Honda Dealers on October 14 vs. the New York Islanders, a Sharks/Star Wars Poster on November 4 vs. the Anaheim Ducks, and a Captain Joe Pavelski bobblehead on Marvel Super Hero Night presented by Solar4America when the Sharks take on the Ottawa Senators December 9.

September 9 through 12 - Prospect Showcase - Solar4America Ice at San Jose (Live Streamed): Prospects from the Sharks, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, and Colorado Avalanche face-off in a round-robin showcase at Solar4America Ice at San Jose. September - 10 Prospect Showcase - Sharks vs Ducks - SAP Center at San Jose: Check out the future of the Sharks! The featured game of the Prospect Showcase has the Sharks taking on the Anaheim Ducks at SAP Center at San Jose. The game is free and tickets can be claimed at

Mid-September - Sharks Mobile App Re-Launch: The Sharks Mobile App will get an upgrade prior to the season with the September release. The app will feature content for all four Sharks Sports & Entertainment properties - Sharks, Barracuda, SAP Center and Solar4America Ice facilities - and users will be able to toggle between the different experiences. Plus, mobile merchandise ordering, marketplace and 360/VR functionality will be added to the Sharks experience. For more information and the release date, visit

September 15 - Sharks Training Camp Opens - Solar4America Ice at San Jose: The Sharks hunt for the Stanley Cup begins. Get a first look at your Sharks at training camp. Practice sessions at Solar4America Ice at San Jose will be open to the general public. Details and camp roster will be available at

September 15 - New Adidas Jersey Launch Party at Remodeled Sharks Store: Be one of the first fans to see and own the new Adidas Sharks jerseys! Come to the Adidas jersey launch and also see the newly remodeled Sharks Store at SAP Center. The jerseys feature new Adidas technology and the "Screaming Sharks" patch on the home teal jersey and the new "SJ Shark" patch on the away white jersey. Details will be available at

September 19 - The Chairman's Lounge Preview: The Sharks new upscale, members-only Chairman's Lounge can be viewed for the first time at the first Sharks preseason game. The newly constructed space at SAP features a high-end lounge featuring a full bar, several food stations, and refined finishes that you would come to expect from a prestigious club. Membership includes seats in the first rows, access to the members-only lounge with a semi-private entrance, complimentary food and beverage with hand-crafted menus, personal concierge service, complimentary parking, access to SAP Center facilities on non-event days, and much more. The official grand opening of the Chairman's Lounge will take place on Opening Night when the Sharks take on the Philadelphia Flyers on October 4. Membership information can be found at

September 24 - Sharks Fan Fest featuring the Legends Game - SAP Center at San Jose: Sharks Fan Fest is back! Activities include Shark Head Photos, Sharks Player Photos, Alumni & Barracuda player Autographs, Kids activities and Main Stage programming throughout the day. Fan Fest programming runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by the Sharks Legends game at 5 pm. The Legends game will feature Dan Boyle, Mike Ricci, Owen Nolan, Evgeni Nabokov and Many Other Sharks Alumni and Personalities in a 60-minute scrimmage. Tickets are only $10 and Family Four Packs are only $20. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Sharks Foundation. September 30 - Fitness Faceoff powered by Kaiser Permanente: Join fellow Sharks fans and participate in the fifth annual Sharks Foundation Fitness Faceoff powered by Kaiser Permanente. SAP Center serves as the central hub for the event that features a 10K, 5K, and the Rosendin Electric Kids Fun Run. Proceeds benefit the Sharks Foundation. Details at

September 30 - Barracuda vs Stockton Heat - FREE GAME: Check out the San Jose Barracuda with this free preseason game at SAP Center. The Sharks AHL affiliate reached the Western Conference Final last season and will be looking to improve this season. Several players on the Barracuda will play for Sharks so this is your chance to see the future of the team. Visit for details.

September 19, 21, & 30 - San Jose Sharks Preseason Games - SAP Center at San Jose: The Sharks begin the 2017-18 campaign with preseason games against the Anaheim Ducks (9/19), Las Vegas Golden Knights (9/21), and Arizona Coyotes (9/30). All games are played at SAP center at San Jose.

September - Turn Up In Teal events through the Bay Area: Follow the Sharks social media accounts to find out where the Sharks street team will be giving away tickets and other items throughout the Bay Area during Shark Month.

Little Sharks: Kids 4-8 years old will be learning how to play hockey at Little Sharks classes around the Bay Area. Details:
