The Sharks have recalled forward Marcus Sorensen from the San Jose Barracuda.

The 25-year-old has played 15 games with the Sharks so far this season, tallying three goals and ten shots on goal. In 22 games with the Barracuda, he's scored seven goals and 11 assists for 18 total points this season.

He'll likely see plently of ice time, as Joe Thornton has been placed on Injured Reserve after tearing his MCL in last night's overtime loss against the Winnipeg Jets. Last night's injury was to his right leg. He had previously torn his MCL and ACL in his left leg last season. Doug Wilson said that Jumbo will be out of the line up for "several weeks."
