Vancouver Canucks forward Antoine Roussel is literally paying for biting the Sharks’ Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s hand towards the end of last night’s game.

Roussel was fined $5,000, which is the max allowed under the CBA. It’s a pretty quick decision because the evidence is pretty damning. If you missed it, Brodie Brazil of NBCSN-CA was kind enough to post a whole video on his Twitter feed.

As for the Twitterverse, plenty of puns to go around.

Wyatt Arndt covers the Canucks for The Athletic.

While TSN’s Jason Brough had this to say...

There were also plenty of pickle jokes to go around, as well as a few shark ones. Like Greg Wyshynski of ESPN.

Roussel didn’t talk to the media after the game, so we don’t know his take on the situation.
