It’s a slow news day and the NHL isn’t the biggest show in town today. We’ll make this short and sweet. Let’s take a second to talk about some scouts that have been at games recently:
Lots of scouts here for Sharks/Red Wings. A dozen listed, including two each from Jets and Maple Leafs. Also, not a lot of games on the schedule tonight.

Second straight game that there are two Tampa Bay Lightning scouts on the press box seating chart
— Kevin Kurz (@KKurzNHL) February 2, 2018
It seems like a Jets trade is unlikely, with the Jets being so dominant in the same conference as the Sharks. The Lightning and the Maples Leafs could be interesting. Toronto, along with the Rangers, had also scouted a recent Barracuda game. Kurz had reported last month that Montreal had been regularly scouting Sharks games, as well.
It’s that time of year for trade rumors, so use this information to figure out how the Sharks are going to get Stamkos or something.
