Sharks recall Bergmann, place Suomela on IR

The San Jose Sharks have recalled winger Lean Bergmann from their AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks announced Wednesday.

Bergmann has played 15 games with the Barracuda and registered 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists). Bergmann was recalled this time last month and spent seven days on the Sharks’ roster. Since the start of the season, he has played eight NHL games and recorded one assist.

In a related move, center Antti Suomela has been placed on Injured Reserve. Suomela was injured by a high hit in the Sharks’ win over the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 29. Suomela has recorded one point in five NHL appearances this season. He had seven points (four goals, three assists) in 11 games with the Barracuda.
