There will be fresh baby faces in teal on the ice at the Scotiabank Saddledome tonight when the San Jose Sharks take on the Calgary Flames. As injuries pile up throughout the Sharks’ line up, they’ve been forced to recall two more forwards and both Alexander True and Maxim Letunov will be making their debut in a Sharks sweater.
The biggest worry tonight for the Sharks may just be keeping their ranks from depleting any further. The Flames play a hard and heavy game and the Sharks are icing four third-lines as it is. Things tend to get heated (sorry) between these two teams and physicality is an easy trap to stumble into if the scoring isn’t coming like it used to.
Part of the animosity between these teams comes from Evander Kane, who always seems to play his best against Calgary. If it’s true tonight, it might be the only thing making this game watchable.
Expected Scratches: Antti Suomela, Tim Heed
Injured Reserve: Logan Couture (fractured ankle), Tomas Hertl (knee), Dalton Prout (upper body), Joel Kellman (lower body)
