2021 NHL Draft: Full first round results

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty pumped about the fact that William Eklund is a San Jose Shark, but the NHL always finds ways to shoot themselves in the foot when things are going too well.

Tonight’s first round disappointingly closed out with the Montreal Canadiens selecting a player who withdrew from the draft (despite there being no formal mechanism to do so) after facing criminal charges in Sweden for deceptively photographing a girl during an otherwise consensual sexual acts and then distributing both the photo and the girl’s identity in a groupchat with his teammates.

This league, man. I can’t. What an embarrassing way to end the night.
