Maybe The New Coach, Whomsoever He May Be...

... will know how to light a fire under Joe Thornton come playoff time.
In a way I am surprised by the move to fire Ron Wilson, but in a way I'm not. Doug Wilson often stated this past season his overall satisfaction with the current roster. To go out the way they did, and after a massive struggle to get past Calgary in the first round, was clearly unacceptable to him.
So now we wait and see who will be the next head coach of Los Tiburones de San José. He will inherit a team tagged as possessing plenty of talent, but also tagged as chronic underachievers. How to maximize the former while eradicating the latter... a question to remain unanswered until next season.
