Chris Tierney has goal waived off by brutal call

It appeared Chris Tierney had tied the game for the Sharks at one goal apiece, but the goal was waived off because of what was deemed a distinct kicking motion. So, about that. Let’s look at the video.

I’m not sure what universe this is a distinct kicking motion in, but it certainly isn’t this one. You could argue the skate was kicked out towards the puck, but it certainly didn’t kick the puck into the back of the net.

That was the second San Jose goal waived off of the night. The first was a good call.

In any event, Tomas Hertl tied the game for the Sharks with this stuff-in.

Anyway, it’s 1-1 Sharks after two periods.
