Dylan Demelo scores first NHL goal
The defender has his first tally and it came on the power play.
The Sharks third power-play tally of the night came with a little something special as defender Dylan Demelo scored his first NHL goal in a 6-1 win for San Jose.
He took the shot from the netminder's right, up above the faceoff circle, and snapped home a shot that eluded Roman Will.
The goal comes in Demelo's 23rd game and is only his second point of the season. Tomas Hertl earned the only assist on the goal, his second point of the night, which came with under a minute to play. His goal came on the 14th shot of his NHL career and his first shot of the night.
Demelo is in his first year in the NHL, having played the past two seasons with the Worcester Sharks. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 draft.
San Jose dominated the Avalanche 6-1 to head into the All-Star break with a win and its point streak intact.
