Evegeni Malkin thinks Patrick Marleau is NHL's most underrated player
I'm liking Geno more and more all the time.
The Players' Tribune is at this year's All-Star Game in Nashville and passed out a list of questionnaire's to a few All Stars, one of whom was Pittsburgh Penguin forward Evgeni Malkin.
There's some good stuff in here, including a great stick figure self portrait, but the most important to Sharks fans is who he marked down as the most underrated player in the NHL...Patrick Marleau.
It's an interesting take, as I wouldn't even consider Marleau the most underrated player on the Sharks (I know, I know, picking Marc-Edouard Vlasic is basically a cliche at this point), but it's cool to see Patty get some recognition from one of the league's best forwards.
Of course the real disappointment here is that The Players' Tribune hasn't handed one of these out to Brent Burns yet. I imagine the self portrait would include a lot of fuzzy lines, fuzzy faces and...okay, what I'm saying is he'd draw Chewbacca. These are the jokes.
