Gameday Thread: Sharks even the score at one, tied with Canucks heading into third period

Another good period for San Jose, controlling the play in the offensive zone and pushing Vancouver to the brink. Keep this up for another twenty minutes, hope for the bounces, and they’ll be in good shape.

No answer for the Sedins tonight, who just like the first period have been spectacular. Alex Burrows playing his role to a t on that line tonight as well, with a great takeaway from Thornton along the boards and a diving effort to keep the puck in the zone setting up another dangerous chance. As Dan Patrick was fond of saying, “You can’t stop them, you can only hope to contain them.”

Vancouver with a good push back to end the second, Niemi came up big. Some shades of game one at the end there, but San Jose has played well all game so that’s probably jumping to conclusions.

San Jose rolling all lines well. Scoring chances have been spread out throughout the lineup with the top line of Couture-Thornton-Marleau leading the way. Fourth has once again been, as Dan Byslma would say, “Grinding bitches down.”

Excellent effort from San Jose throughout this entire game. McLellan couldn’t be happier.

Buckle up folks. Third period on the brink of elimination, road game with the score knotted at one.

All comes down to this.

Bring it back home to San Jose.
