Joe Thornton stumbles off ice
We're hoping it's just a skate issue for Thornton.
After taking a hit in the Kings' zone, Joe Thornton struggled to stand up and hobbled his way to the Sharks dressing room late in the first period. It appears to be a skate issue, though the trainer headed onto the ice to help him off and not the equipment manager.
UPDATE: Thornton is back in the game now, for better or for worse.

He didn't return to the ice during the first period.
@HockeyBabbler he smiled/laughed at the linesman on his way off so i think it's just a skate issue

Friend of the blog Kevin Kurz reporting that Thornton's head hit the ice. Not good.
Thornton’s head hit the ice hard after the check from Muzzin. That wasn’t a skate issue, and that did not look good at all #SJSharks
