Joonas Donskoi dishes another magical assist

This Joonas Donskoi kid just might be something special. An absolutely fabulous backhand pass from behind the net set up a power-play goal for Joel Ward. With the Rangers crashing towards the net, Donskoi opted to pass instead of skating it around the cage — that proved to be the right move. And that’s all without complimenting a very nice finish from Ward, another great signing by Doug Wilson over the offseason.

Like everything else Donskoi does, this has to be seen to be believed. Enjoy.

The goal is the 18th of the season for Ward and it’s Donskoi’s 21st assist. We’ve written plenty about what a great surprise Donskoi has been this season, but it seems like every game he’s adding something new to his game. Whether it’s his deking, play away from the puck or brilliant passing there’s been plenty to like from the Finnish forward.

Keep ’em coming Donskoi, we’re not tired of it yet.
