Keeping Tabs update – Phoenix’s Olli Jokinen out 2-4 weeks

In the spirit of Turkey Day, I’m keeping work to a minimum.  The short of it – the Phoenix Coyote’s star acquisition, Olli Jokinen, has been sidelined with a shoulder injury received last night during the Desert Dogs’ game against Columbus.  Blue Jackets defenseman Marc Methot checked Jokinen into the boards in the first period, causing the injury.

On the plus side for Phoenix, they came back to win the game, 3-2, surprising even coach Wayne Gretzky.

Though it doesn’t especially concern those of us rooting for Pacific Division teams, Columbus winger Derek Dorsett injured his hand during a fight with Coyotes bad boy Daniel Carcillo.

The San Jose Sharks face the now Jokinen-less Coyotes in Glendale this Saturday, and the, um, Dorsett-less Blue Jackets in San Jose next Thursday.
