Knights at Sharks preseason game 2: Lines, game thread and how to watch

Tonight’s home match up between the San Jose Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights will feature a bit more of an NHL lineup than Sharks fans witnessed when the Sharks traveled to Anaheim on Sunday. So far, the Sharks have only sent three players — Jake Gustafson, Alexander Karmanov and goaltender Brady Knowling — back to their respective junior clubs, leaving a lot of room for other players to get preseason time in and a look from the coaching staff.

Players like Ethan Cardwell, Jimmy Huntington, Carson Wetsch, Andre Gasseau, Nolan Allan, Phillip Sinn and Eric Pohlkamp are getting their second preseason game in during the shortened preseason/training camp. While some of this has to do with roster management considering that the season is now 84 games long, there’s also some vetting going on. You can be sure the coaching staff wants to see what it has in defensemen like Pohlkamp, Sinn and Allan so the coaches know who they can call up if there’s an injury.
