The San Jose Sharks look to get things back on track tonight against the flailing Seattle Kraken. After a tough outing against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, where the Sharks did a lot of good things, but could not get the win, San Jose has the chance to turn things around quickly. The Kraken are in the midst of a massive slump. The team has lost its last four games and won just one game in its last 11. Seattle is 12-14-6 and now rank 8th in the Pacific Division. The team’s most recent loss came on Thursday night in Calgary, a 4-2 loss to the Flames.
With the sudden realization that things are going south, the Kraken have started selling. Seattle traded Mason Marchment to the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday for a 2027 2nd round pick and 2026 4th round pick. It’s likely not the last move Seattle will make this season, but it will be for now because the holiday roster freeze is now in effect.
Jordan Eberle leads the team with 20 points in 32 games. Vince Dunn and Chandler Stephenson are close behind with 19 points. Eberle also leads the Kraken with ten goals.
In the net, no one has been particularly good for the Kraken. Joey Daccord has played the most games for the team, but he has a 8-9-4 record and an .897 save percentage. Matt Murray has the better save percentage at .922, but has no wins and is 0-2-1. He’s also injured at the moment. In between the two is Philipp Grubaur with a 4-3-1 record and a .900 save percentage.
This is the final of three meetings between the Pacific Division teams this season barring a meeting in the playoffs. The Sharks beat the Kraken 6-1 on Nov. 5 and then lost 1-4 on Nov. 15. Yaroslav Askarov was in the net for the game the Sharks won and Alex Nedeljkovic was in the game for the one the Sharks lost. Askarov is expected to start tonight.
San Jose Sharks lines tonight
There will be some line changes tonight, so be on the lookout for those. It sounds like Vincent Iorio will play in the place of Timothy Liljegren, who got hurt during the morning skate. Meantime, Ethan Cardwell will sit and Jeff Skinner returns to the line up. Here’s what Sharks Hockey Digest’s Max Miller saw at morning skate:

Seattle Kraken lines vs. San Jose Sharks tonight
These are the lines the Kraken are expected to ice tonight according to NHL.com. The last time the Kraken and Sharks matched up, Marchment was on the top line so the lines will look a bit different tonight with Kaapo Kakko on Matry Beniers’ wing. With injuries to Jaden Schwartz, Berkly Catton, Jared McCann and Brandon Montour, Seattle’s lineup is a bit depleted.
