Last Meeting

The Sharks won the last meeting between the two teams only one month ago by a score of 5-4 in overtime. Brent Burns had the winner three-on-three at the Air Canada Centre. Patrick Marleau, Matt Nieto, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Joe Pavelski also had goals for San Jose. Tonight’s matchup will be the last between San Jose and Toronto until next season.

Storylines

  • Chris Tierney has been recalled from the San Jose Barracuda for tonight’s game.
  • Joe Thornton was not too happy with the Sharks’ play on Thursday night against Detroit. “Hopefully we start fresh next game and we can jump out early and play from the lead.”
  • Backup goaltender Alex Stalock is expected to make his return to action for the Sharks after a conditioning stint with the Barracuda early next week. He was called back up to the NHL on Thursday and will likely be used in the team’s next back-to back./
