Marc-Edouard Vlasic day-to-day; Matt Nieto out long term
A pair of injury updates for the Sharks has okay news and less okay news.
After sweating it out for the past 36 hours, we've got our answers on Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Matt Nieto. The former is out day-to-day with an injury that's not expected to hold the defender out long term. Nieto isn't so lucky as a hand injury will keep him out for a while. Head coach Peter DeBoer expects Nieto to return by the playoffs.
Both of these updates come courtesy of Friend of the Blog Kevin Kurz.
Vlasic day to day, not long term, per DeBoer

Dylan Demelo has been called up and will slot into the lineup in place of the injured Vlasic. With Tommy Wingels ready to return we should see him fill in for Nieto. Losing Vlasic should be the final nail in the coffin of the Sharks' Pacific Division title dreams and will make securing home ice in the first round difficult if he's out for more than a few games.
