Marleau and his sons photographed in Leafs jerseys, in case his departure hasn’t set in

Patrick Marleau modeled his new Toronto Maple Leafs jersey alongside his four sons in a picture that his wife, Christina, shared on Twitter today.

The 37-year-old, who’s played all 1493 regular season games and 177 playoff games of his NHL career with the Sharks, signed a three-year, $18.75 million contract with the Leafs earlier this month. Marleau leaves San Jose as the franchise’s longest-tenured and highest-scoring player, and will take the ice at SAP Center as an opponent for the first time on October 30.

Seeing Marleau in any color other than teal, let alone wearing Maple Leaf blue, will take a lot of getting used to. But don’t worry, Sharks fans, Christina Marleau feels your pain.
