Matt Nieto scores goal of the Sharks season

We’ve seen a few nifty goals by the Sharks this season, but I don’t think any of them tap Matt Nieto’s tally tonight. A beautiful move (okay, beautiful doesn’t really cover it) by Joonas Donskoi led to the goal, which was also assisted on by Chris Tierney. Nieto had the finish, but it’s the Finn who had the best play of the goal.

Donskoi’s hands were fully on display with this beauty in the shootout, but after this one it’s clear the Finn can put his hands on display in regulation, too.

The goal is Nieto’s sixth of the season and his eleventh point.

The three weren’t slated to play on the same line, but I’d be surprised if that combination doesn’t get on the ice again after this highlight reel effort.

Yeah, that was fun. Oh, and it gave the Sharks a 3-2 lead over the pesky Senators with two big points at stake.
