Melker Karlsson recalled to Sharks
His status for Tuesday's game against the Islander's is unconfirmed.
The other shoe has dropped. Melker Karlsson is finally ready to rejoin the Sharks after playing in four games with the Barracuda. According to Curtish Pashelka, Karlsson was wearing the orange no-contact jersey at practice this morning, so it's unclear if he'll be ready to go against the Islanders on Tuesday.
This move also makes one of today's Ask the Editor's questions very relevant. If you haven't weighed in on that, I recommend you do so.
SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Melker Karlsson from the San Jose Barracuda (AHL, @sjbarracuda).
The 25-year-old Karlsson has posted two assists and 10 shots on goal in four games with the Barracuda this season. Karlsson was named the Sharks Rookie of the Year in 2014-15, ranking 7th amongst NHL rookies in goals (13) and T-15th in points (24) in 53 games. He tied a franchise-best rookie scoring streak by scoring in five consecutive contests from Jan. 3 vs. St. Louis thru Jan. 10 vs. the NY Rangers.
The six-foot, 180-pound native of Lycksele, Sweden, was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on May 30, 2014.
