MLX adds to stable of prizes at FTF’s Night At The Tank

Fear The Fin is extremely excited to announce a partnership with MLX, who has kindly donated a pair of their $800 skates to our growing supply of prizes that will be given out at Fear The Fin’s Night At The Tank on December 27, 2010.

According to their press release, MLX “combines a moldable boot with a fully-adjustable chassis and enhanced blade,” components that have been utilized in the speed skating realm before but only have recently been introduced into the ice hockey world. Stating that the blend of comfort and technology “complements a player’s individual biomechanics and increases performance,” the skates also have improved protection by using a “composite shell [that] distributes force away from the foot.”

Four-time US Olympic speed skater Dave Cruikshank designed the skate, along with help from Scott Van Horne who has been an industry leader in high-performance speed skate manufacturing.

Current and former NHL players who currently use the skate include Mario Lemieux, Dustin Byfuglien, Paul Gaustad, Colin Stuart, and Sergei Gonchar. Lemieux, an NHL Hall of Famer and one of the game’s most recognizable faces, cites skating as an integral part of today’s game and professes that MLX’s skates allow players to gain the needed edge to succeed.

As stated before, MLX has kindly donated a pair of their $800 skates to Fear The Fin’s event at HP Pavilion on December 27th. We couldn’t be happier to have yet another great prize to give away at our raffle benefiting The Sharks Foundation, and are extremely excited to see all of you there.

Six tickets are still available for the event– if you are without a ticket and want to join the fun, send an email to either [fearthefin@gmail.com] or [mattt.taylor@gmail.com] and we will be able to process your ticket order of $88.

Go Sharks.
