NHL Playoff 2016: Sharks opponent undetermined

With the 2015-16 regular season all done, the Sharks sit in third place in the Pacific Division ready to head to southern California. Since the Ducks won 5-2 against the Colorado Avalanche and the Kings lost 4-3 in a shootout, the Sharks’ playoff opponent has yet to be determined.

Anaheim finishes its season against the Washington Capitals in D.C. at 4:30 p.m. and the result of that contest will determine where the Sharks head. If the Ducks win the game in any fashion, San Jose will open its first round series in Los Angeles on either Wednesday or Thursday. A loss in any fashion means the Sharks head to Anaheim to take on the Ducks.

I’ll set a gamethread up for the Ducks game in case you’d like to discuss the existential dread with your fellow fans.

TL;DR: If the Ducks win the Sharks are playing the Kings and if the Ducks lose the Sharks are playing the Ducks. Cool.
