How to watch Game 5 of the Western Conference Final & Open Thread

The Dallas Stars are one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2000.

The Dallas Stars could punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final with a win over the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin stood on his head in Game 4 making 32 saves as Dallas hung on to beat Vegas 2-1.

Alec Martinez opened the scoring for the Knights in Game 4, but former San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn scored less than eight minutes apart int he second period to give the Stars the win.

Vegas has struggled to score in the series, with only six goals through the first four games. Head coach Peter DeBoer wants his team to stick with it is doing.

“Obviously, when you score one goal the answer to that is ‘no.’ But I thought we made a better effort to get there. I thought we created some really good looks. I think we hit two or three posts,” DeBoer told the Associated Press. “With one goal, we have to find ways to make it tougher on him. But the effort’s there to do that. We had enough looks in Game 4 to extend the lead. We just have to stick with it.”

Khudobin has been lights out since struggling agains the Colorado Avalanche in the second round. The soon-to-be unrestricted free agent has stopped 70 out of the last 73 shots he faced over the last two games.
