Waiting For Stanley

We've touched upon the debacle against the number one team in the Western Conference. We've analyzed the even-strength play over the last eight games, covered the Pacific division, seen how Jody Shelley has stacked up in dropping the gloves, been blessed with game recaps by Roman philosophers, and looked at ways we would engineer lines with injuries more prevalent than the questions about just where your tax dollars are headed.

The Sharks stroll into tonight well rested with two full days off. Travel is a moot point. Milan Michalek is still out with the ever-mysterious "upper-body injury", but Pavelski and Cheech will play. We're as full-throttle as we're going to be from here on out. Injuries will come and go. The 82-game schedule questions your depth, your will to win. Tonight will be yet another test in a series that will not stop until the 2008-2009 regular season ends as quickly as your first experience with a woman.

We need to generate even-strength scoring opportunities in a game that could be a prelude to a playoff matchup. The Nucks' are only going to get better in the coming weeks. It's inevitable. Sundin will make them dangerous, Luongo's return will make them scarier than that time you came home early on your mom and dad's day off. This is the game to re-establish trends set at the beginning of the year. It's where the Sharks can get back that swagger, that aura of invincibility.

Nuck the pucks. It's too damn pretty of a city to win tonight anyways,

Prediction: Sharks win 3-0. Goals by Cheechoo, McGinn, and the Gooch.

Go Sharks.
