Predators at Sharks (game 51): Lines, game thread and how to watch

Early post because I’m traveling, so we’re guessing at the lines.

The San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators are back in action today, this time in a different venue. When the Sharks visited Nashville on Tuesday, it was a loss of “embarrassing” proportions. San Jose went from leading the game 5-1 to losing 5-7 in what ended up being Nashville’s greatest comeback in team history.

Not exactly the way the Sharks want to make history, so you can bet there will be a lot of energy going into this game.

As if that wasn’t enough, one of the other storylines to keep an eye on is the potential show between Juuse Saros and Yaroslav Askarov in net. Saros is looking for a bit of redemption after letting in four goals on eight shots Tuesday. Meantime, Askarov is looking to prove to Nashville management that they let a good thing go. Remember, Askarov was a Nashville prospect before he asked for a trade because the team signed Saros to an eight-year extension. Askarov thinks he’s NHL-ready and from what we’ve seen so far, he’s not wrong. Tonight, he can show Nashville in person that the team was wrong.

San Jose Sharks lines tonight

These were the lines from last game. If Tyler Toffoli is back at full strength and healthy after dealing with an illness, he’ll be in and Carl Grundstrom will likely sit. If Marc-Edouard Vlasic is healthy, I would look for him to be in over Henry Thrun or Timothy Liljegren. I imagine Askarov starts tonight.

Forwards
William Eklund – Macklin Celebrini – Ty Dellandrea
Fabian Zetterlund – Mikael Granlund – Will Smith
Luke Kunin – Alex Wennberg – Carl Grundstrom
Barclay Goodrow – Nico Sturm – Collin Graf

Defense
Jake Walman – Cody Ceci

Timothy Liljegren – Jan Rutta

Goaltenders

Nashville Predators lines vs. San Jose Sharks

For the Predators, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We expect to see similar lines tonight with Mark Jankowski out because of an injury. We also expect that Saros will get another shot to redeem himself.

Cole Smith- Michael McCarron – Colton Sissons
