Quick Bite: Sharks douse Flames
The San Jose Sharks had five goals from five players to beat the Flames tonight at SAP Center
The Sharks dominated from start to finish to overcome the Calgary Flames by a score of 5-2 tonight in San Jose.
Shots were close to even in the first period, but the Sharks won both the shot attempts battle and the goaltending battle, and came out on top 2-0 at the end of twenty minutes. Tommy Wingels and Tomas Hertl had the goals:

The Sharks took back to back penalties early in the second but were able to kill both off. In fact, the Sharks killed off all three penalties they took in the game.
The Sharks' powerplay was just as successful as the penalty kill, scoring twice on back-to-back penalties taken by the Flames. Joel Ward and Patrick Marleau got the goals, and you can see them here:

The Flames managed to get two past Martin Jones mid-way and late through the third, but Marc-Edouard Vlasic got the first of those goals back within minutes, making the final score 5-2.
This was a great performance from the Sharks all around, and combined with a Kings loss tonight (assuming the current score holds) it will be enough to put the Sharks in first place in the Pacific division.
