Report: Drew Remenda won’t return as Sharks color analyst

It appears as though the Sharks’ offseason rebuild will extend beyond their roster. According to local radio personality Rich Lieberman, beloved television color analyst Drew Remenda will not return in that capacity next season as the Sharks reportedly did not offer him a new contract. I should stress that this is a preliminary report and nothing has been confirmed by either the team or Remenda.

Drew has been with the Sharks since the beginning. He was an assistant coach from the team’s inaugural season through 1995 and became a radio broadcaster alongside Dan Rusanowsky soon after. Drew became the team’s television color analyst in 1999 and has served in that capacity since, with the exception of the 2006-07 season when he took a job with CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada in order to be closer to his family.
