Sam Dickinson scores hat trick for London Knights

The San Jose Sharks 2024 first-round pick not named Macklin Celebrini is still pretty darn good at hockey. 18-year-old Sam Dickinson was returned to the London Knights out of Sharks training camp and he’s making a big impact for his team. Since returning to Ontario, the defenseman has seven points in four games. Three of those points came last night, when Dickinson got himself a hat trick.

All three goals happened on the power play, with Dickinson opening up the scoring in the waning minute of the third period.

His second goal of the night was just one of those instances where the player has all the time in the world and can pick his spot.

Thanks to the screen up front, Dickinson had an easy second goal for the night.

The third goal was a beauty. Dickinson went end-to-end, weaving through the other team before firing it past the goaltender. It was an impressive individual goal that showed exactly why the Sharks were excited to pick him up at 11th overall.

Maybe Dickinson was taking a page out of future teammate William Eklund’s book, but the defenseman snagged himself a new hat in the process.

In case you didn’t get a good look at him with his new lid, here’s another angle.

While Dickinson wasn’t ready for the NHL and too young to head to the AHL, it’s clear this is going to be another explosive season from the young defenseman who 70 points in 68 games with the London Knights last season.
