Sharks acquire Evander Kane from Sabres

The Sharks have filled a hole in their top-six. They’ve added forward Evander Kane from the Buffalo Sabres. The return for Buffalo is Daniel O’Regan, a conditional 2019 first-round pick, and a 2019 conditional fourth-round pick.

The Sharks have the option to keep the 2016 fourth-round pick. If they choose to do so, the Sabres will get their 2020 third-round pick.

The first-round is conditional based on if they re-sign Kane, as Bob McKenzie reports that the deal does not include and extension for Kane and he will be able to explore free agency this summer if no deal is met with San Jose. If he does not re-sign, that first becomes a second.
