Sharks place Grosenick, Bollig, Mashinter on Waivers

The trio are headed to the Barracuda.

As the opening of the 2017-18 NHL season looms in two short days, the Sharks' roster is coming into shape. Per James Mirtle of The Athletic, the Sharks have placed Troy Grosenick, Brandon Bollig, and Brandon Mashinter on waivers.

As we can see, the Sharks are far from the only team trimming their roster this week. Should they clear waivers, which all three almost certainly will, the trio will be assigned to the Barracuda. We may see Grosenick on the Sharks at some point this season, should either Martin Jones or Aaron Dell go down with an injury. The odds of seeing Bollig or Mashinter back with the Sharks at any point this season are next to zero, save for emergency call up status.
