Overseas Update: Sharks loan four more players abroad

With rumors that the NHL may have to push its return to February, the San Jose Sharks have been loaning more prospects and fringe NHL players overseas to keep them in shape during this extended off-season. Since last week, four more players have been loaned to European clubs.

On Wednesday, German center Lean Bergmann was loaned to Adler Mannheim in his home country’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Due to the 2019-20 playoffs being cancelled, Mannheim is the last Championship team, winning the league title in 2018-19. Coincidentally, they happen to be housed in SAP Arena, also sponsored by the German software company.

On Friday, center Alex True was loaned to Rungsted Seier Capital in his native country, Denmark. The 23-year-old went scoreless in his first (and only, so far) game with the club.

The team also made the loans of prospects Artemi Knyazev (Irbis Kazan, MHL) and Joachim Blichfeld (Frederikshavn White Hawks, Denmark) official mid-week last week. Both players have since debuted with their new clubs.

This does mean that Yegor Spiridonov and Adam Raska have multiple entries, as they have been shifted up and down between leagues):
