Sharks recall Jacob Middleton from Barracuda
Dalton Prout has gone on Injured Reserve, necessitating the recall.
The San Jose Sharks have recalled defenseman Jacob Middleton from the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks announced Friday. The Sharks also announced defenseman Dalton Prout has been placed on injured reserve.
Middleton, a left-handed defenseman, played 57 games for the Barracuda last season and served as an alternate captain. He saw NHL action in three games for the Sharks last season and recorded one assist.
Prout is a right-handed defenseman and was part of the Calgary Flames’ system last season. Kevin Kurz reports that he has an upper-body injury.
The Sharks acquired Middleton in 2017 as a free agent.

Fresh from the birth of his daughter, Erik Karlsson will reportedly slot back into the line up tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights. No word yet on if Middleton is just insurance or if he will make an appearance in tonight's game.
