The San Jose Sharks’ final road trip of the season wraps up in Vancouver with the team’s final meeting with the Canucks. This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two teams. On Feb. 6, the Sharks lost 2-1 in overtime. The Sharks also lost one goal games to the Canucks in November and December.
This is a pride game for both teams since neither have a postseason to prepare for. The turmoil in Vancouver was simply too much for the Canucks’ lockerroom to survive and the team never really pulled it together down the stretch. It sounds like things will continue to be difficult in the summer, when Brock Boeser will likely test free agency.
On a lighter note, the Canucks Drew O’Conner has a chance to make rare NHL history tonight. If he’s in the lineup, he’ll be playing his 83rd game of the season, something no other Canucks player has done. O’Connor is in the rare position simply because of the timing of his trade from Pittsburgh. If he plays out the rest of the season, he’ll finish at 84 games.
San Jose Sharks lines tonight
The Sharks did not practice this morning since they played last night. We’re guessing that the line combinations will be the same with Alexandar Georgiev getting the start since Georgi Romanov started yesterday.
