The San Jose Sharks are back on the road and the first stop is a visit to New Jersey to play the somewhat hot New Jersey Devils. The Devils have won three games in a row, outscoring opponents 12-6. New Jersey is third in the league with 10 wins and second in the league in goals scored with 62.
The team’s top scorer is Jesper Bratt with 19 points, though Jack Hughes is close behind with 18. Nico Hischier leads the team with 10 goals.
The Devils are tops in the Metropolitan Division with 22 points, though the team has played four more games than the Carolina Hurricanes and three more games than the Washington Capitals. Each of those teams have 20 points.
For the Sharks, Jake Walman will not play again. This will be the third game that Walman has missed two games. He missed the first one for not adhering to team policy and he missed the second one because he was truly injured. According to San Jose Hockey Now’s Sheng Peng, the team-related reason was that Walman did not adhere to the proper team policy for injury.
Jake Walman shared the non-hockey reason why he was scratched on Tuesday:

Meantime, Will Smith will not play because it’s another development day.
