Sharks will open series Wednesday in Vancouver
San Jose begins its quest for the Cup on Wednesday night in Vancouver and the series will continue on every other night thereafter.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the NHL released dates, times and television information for each of its eight quarterfinal series. Here's the lowdown on Sharks/Canucks. Local TV details have yet to be announced but it's probably a safe assumption CSN California will cover the full slate given that none of the NBC Sports Network games are as of yet marked as exclusive broadcasts.
Game | Date | Time | Venue | TV |
1 | 5/1 | 7:30PM | Rogers Arena | TSN, NBCSN |
2 | 5/3 | 7PM | Rogers Arena | TSN, CNBC |
3 | 5/5 | 7PM | HP Pavilion | TSN, NBCSN |
4 | 5/7 | 7PM | HP Pavilion | TSN, CNBC |
5* | 5/9 | 7PM | Rogers Arena | TSN |
6* | 5/11 | TBD | HP Pavilion | TSN |
7* | 5/13 | TBD | Rogers Arena | TSN |
While a Thursday start date would have likely been ideal in order to give Jason Demers more time to recuperate from injury, this is still better for the Sharks than starting the series on opening night. Given some of the other series schedules, it's an added bonus that this one doesn't feature a single back-to-back. Most importantly, a year and a week after being eliminated at the hands of the St. Louis Blues, the Sharks will make their return to the playoffs. Get stoked.
