Dylan Gambrell re-assigned to San Jose Barracuda

After being recalled on Feb. 4, the San Jose Sharks have reassigned center Dylan Gambrell to the AHL San Jose Barracuda.

Gambrell played in four games during this call up, tallying three shots on goal and seven hits, while averaging just over seven minutes per game, primarily playing on the Sharks’ fourth line. In his six NHL games so far this season, Gambrell has no goals or assists, and just four shots on goal. In one category where zeros are a good thing, Gambrell has recorded no penalties, either.

In the AHL, however, the 22-year-old is scoring at a nearly point-per-game pace. Gambrell has notched 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 31 games.

The Barracuda play the Anaheim Ducks affiliated San Diego Gulls today at 1:15 p.m. at SAP Center for the first game of a San Jose double-header. Gambrell is expected to play.

When the Sharks take on the Boston Bruins tonight, Lukas Radil will be slotting into the lineup.
