The Olympics kicked off last night with a (rather weird) opening ceremony, and I couldn't be more pumped for international hockey to begin. It's truly a great moment to be a sports fan. We'll have a tonne of coverage here on Fear The Fin, so be sure to continue to swing by as you go about your daily lives.
Buffalo is a good team who has struggled of late, which is a shame considering Ryan Miller will be spearheading the Americans' quest for gold. The Sharks aren't desperate for points right now, so my main wish is for everyone to stay healthy and make sure they will be able to play for their country this upcoming week. I'd like to say that the eight Olympic representatives the Sharks will be sending to Vancouver will play as if tonight was the postseason, but if they mail it in I really won't care*.
*Hopefully you feel the same way about this post.
Prediction: Sharks win 1-0 in the shootout. Game winner by Pavelski. Miller (I bet he doesn't start tonight, but I'm playing it safe) gets hot as hell and doesn't give up a goal for the next month.
Go Sharks.
