Sharks lead Wings 1-0 heading into the third period, Niemi and Howard putting on a show

Twenty minutes left on the docket and San Jose is trending in the right direction. Some good play up and down the lineup, Sharks really committed to the defensive end right now. Thornton’s had some nice aggressive plays to break up some scoring chances, Dan Boyle continuing his strong game one and really showing up in the defensive zone.

Keys to this period is going to be staying out of the box—both teams are tempting fate with the amount of penalty calls here, with Ian White's goal in the first standing as the lone marker.

Niemi and Howard putting on a show right now, some real excellent goaltending from both guys. Funny how coming into the series there were some questions about the ability of either player to make a tonne of great saves considering the offensive talent on both teams, but here we are.

Twenty minutes remaining, Sharks lead 1-0.
