Sharks Practice: Couture skating with Ricci, no Braun
A quick update on the Sharks after Friday morning's practice.
The Sharks host the Calgary Flames on Saturday night looking to start a new win streak after their six-gamer was snapped by Chicago on Wednesday. The team practiced today — here are our some updates, most of which come from Friend of the Blog Kevin Kurz.
Logan Couture skated with Mike Ricci
Couture on the ice with Mike Ricci this morning. Definitely picking up the pace and doing some starts and stops. Good sign I’d say #SJSharks

Bottom six being shuffled
Tierney wearing Orange (3rd line jersey) with Wingels and Hertl. Nieto in yellow (4th) with Brown and Zubrus.

Or maybe not
#SJSharks Nieto and Tierney switch jerseys. Each sport Orange-Black-Yellow look -- late 80s/early90s Canucks colors. So 50 on 4th, 83 on 3rd

Keeping the third line together probably makes sense, despite having a brutally bad game on Wednesday. That being said, it'd be nice to get someone with more of a scoring touch on the fourth line because it's probably not coming from Mike Brown or Dainius Zubrus.
Losing Braun exposed what we basically already knew — Mirco Mueller just isn't ready (if he'll ever be) to play NHL minutes right now. The Sharks are okay with the six defenseman they regularly trot out there, but the drop off between the sixth and seventh guy is...glaring. Hopefully the injury isn't serious and Braun will be back soon, because the Sharks are going to have a tough time winning without him.
