Sharks recall Lerg, DeMelo; Couture and Karlsson injury update

San Jose called up a pair of fresh bodies for the upcoming road trip.

Bryan Lerg and Dylan DeMelo will accompany the Sharks on their road swing through Denver and Dallas. The pair have seen some time with the parent club this season. Lerg has played three games while notching one shot and DeMelo has played a pair while taking two shots.

Speaking of warm bodies, friend of the blog Kevin Kurz has an update on the health of Melker Karlsson and Logan Couture. It sounds like things are progressing normally for Couture, who should be back somewhere between Nov. 14 and Nov. 28. Karlsson will skate today, which means an update is coming on his condition presently.

Alex Stalock will likely get a start this weekend (it's back to back after all). Kurz speculated he might face off against Antti Niemi in Dallas, but I think it's more likely he'll get the start against the weaker opponent in the Colorado Avalanche. It's possible Peter Deboer decides to punt the Dallas game in favor of guaranteeing two points against the Avs — but quite frankly, with the way Colorado is playing, that's a choice the coach shouldn't have to make.
