The San Jose Sharks have made the first cuts out of training camp. The team announced that 13 players have been sent back to their respective teams or released from their tryouts.

None of the cuts are a surprise. Some of the players were always destined for the Barracuda, while others were with the team on tryouts.
Of the forwards, expect Nolan Burke, Joe Carroll and Luke Grainger to return to the Barracuda.
Carson Wetsch will likely be returned to his WHL team, the Calgary Hitmen.
Donovan Villeneueve-Houle signed an amateur tryout contract with the San Jose Barracuda at the end of last season but, so far, does not have a contract with either the Sharks or the Barracuda.
Ivan Lodnia and Nathan Pilling were both on tryouts with the team. Neither has a contract with the Sharks or the Barracuda.
As for the defense, Jeremie Bucheler and Gannon Laroque will likely join the Barracuda. In the meantime, Nate Misskey will return to his WHL team, the Victoria Royals, while Colton Roberts will return to the Vancouver Giants, also of the WHL.
Sadly, Aaron Dell was on a professional tryout and currently does not have a contract. 18-year-old Dawson Cowan also does not have a contract.
Dell might be an interesting name to watch. If the Sharks do end up moving Yaroslav Askarov up to the NHL this season, the organization might be in need of another netminder at the AHL level. Dell could be serviceable in that role and also serve as a good mentor for young Georgi Romanov.
The Sharks training camp now stands at 56 players (32 forwards, 19 defensemen, 5 goalies).
