Sharks sign Cam Lund to entry-level deal

The San Jose Sharks have announced that the team has signed 2022 draftee Cam Lund to an entry-level deal.

Lund just wrapped up his 2024-25 season with Northeastern University, helping the Huskies all the way to the Hockey East tournament semifinals. He had five points (2 G, 3 A) in the tournament including a key goal in the second period to tie the game.

The 20-year-old finished his season with 40 points (18 G, 22 A) and was named to the Hockey East Third All-Star Team. This was his third season with Northeastern. He played 107 games over those three seasons and tallied 93 points (36 G, 57 A).

ā€œCam is a very talented player who brings speed, size, and skill to our group,ā€ said Sharks General Manager Mike Grier after announcing Lund’s deal. ā€œWe’re excited to have him join the organization and look forward to watching him develop.ā€

Lund is 6-foot-2, 195 pounds and a native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts. He was selected 34th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, the same draft that included Filip Bystedt, Mattias Havelid, Michael Fisher and Jake Furlong.

According to the Bay Area News Group’s Curtis Pashelka, Lund will join the Sharks when he gets to the West Coast, though it make take a few days.

It makes sense that Lund won’t arrive immediately. Northeastern lost to Maine in the Hockey East semifinals on Thursday evening, going to double overtime before there was a decision.

With the loss still fresh on Lund’s mind, it will likely take him a few days to pack some things and travel to the Bay Area.
