Sharks swap minor leaguers with Minnesota Wild

The Sharks and Wild have swapped players yet again, although this is certainly of the small-scale variety. Chad Rau joins the Sharks organization and will presumably be dispatched to Worcester. In 33 games for the Iowa Wild, Rau scored one goal and earned six helpers. He was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2005 and was signed as a free agent by the Wild in 2010.

Going the other way is Curt Gogol. In 40 games for Worcester Gogol also had one goal, but just three assists. San Jose also sent Riley Brace to the Wild. Brace has split time this year between Worcester and the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. The right-winger is 21 years old.

What, you wanted analysis? Hell if i know. Rau is a cool name, but so is Riley Brace… Early returns are that the Sharks lost the trade based on that.

Check out the press release from the Sharks.
