Sharks Trade Raffi Torres to Leafs
Let the trades begin!
The Sharks and the Toronto Maple Leafs have made a trade:

Good riddance, Raffi.
Roman Polak is a solid second or third pairing defenseman that will provide depth in an area where the Sharks need it. Nick Spaling, who the Leafs acquired as part of the Phil Kessel trade, will provide forward depth and could be an answer for San Jose if Tommy Wingels is out for an extended period of time.
The two second rounders San Jose are giving up tilts this trade in the Leafs favour, but with San Jose's window for contention closing soon it may be worth doing anyway.
Also of note: Torres will remain with the Barracuda.
Torres immediately reassigned to SJ Barracuda of the AHL. Leafs got his contract but clearly no plans now to bring him into the fold.
