Sharks vs Blues, Game 3 Preview: Sharks return home

After a dominant win against the Blues on Tuesday night, the Sharks are returning to SAP Center looking to pull ahead in the series and retain the home ice advantage they stole from St. Louis.

The Sharks have been stellar in both games so far. Brian Elliott’s solid goaltending performance in Game 1 is all that kept San Jose from being up 2-0 right now. If the team keeps playing as well as they have, (including Martin Jones, whose lack of controversy has been a blessing) getting past this Blues team is not only doable but likely.

The Sharks played a solid game from start to finish and Martin Jones got his second shutout of the postseason. Hell yeah!

Storylines

  • I’ve been waiting for “Should James Reimer get a start?” to become a storyline but the play of Jones has been so solid it’s never even been a question. So I guess this is more of an anti-storyline.
  • The Sharks’ special teams played a huge role in their win on Tuesday. Keeping that up is important.
  • San Jose has won five straight games at home. Let’s hope that’s a streak they can keep alive for….4-6 more games./
